If you knew that there was something more to life that most people won’t ever understand, would you look back? If you woke up one day and decided that it was time, would you set the example for everyone else? I know that there is a different life out there for myself and I decided to head towards that life. Over a month ago I quit my third and hopefully final, regular job. I’m trying new things and exploring on a whim. I’m finally free. Sure do I ever stress, of course! I don’t have everything figured out yet but I’m just deciding to roll with it. I feel like that goes more with my identity and that it is parallel to what I believe in. I have faith that it will all work out in the end because I know I’m not average. I know that I can learn new things and find solutions to life through my dreams and my passions. I just believe!
Did you ever miss out on a vacation with family or friends, or a weekend trip out of town? Have you ever missed a birthday party or holiday because of work? Isn’t that the worst feeling? If you were at a dead end job or a temporary job to work around school, or at a job to just get you buy until you figure things out, doesn’t it just suck missing out on fun and the things you wish you were doing? Have you ever reached that point where you tell your co-worker,”I’m seriously about to walk right out the damn door, I don’t even care anymore”? Well, I have too. So if it isn’t the end of the world, if you are not going to lose everything or if like myself you still live at home, isn’t walking in a different direction to be happy worth the risk?
Although it might seem like everyone knows where they are going in life, most people don’t have a clue. Hell, I can’t tell you how many people I know that either have kids and maybe are very young, or are trying different jobs, or are maybe struggling in their marriage. If someone has a great job and income, and graduated college on time, they might have a horrible relationship. If someone has the love of their life, they might have just lost their job. If someone has the car, the wife, the job, they may have just got cancer. My point is that no one has the perfect life and everyone has some sort of challenge no matter how pretty their lives look on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or even on their daily “smile”. Looks can be deceiving and you can work towards changing your life for the better and becoming happier at any moment. I’m not even getting paid yet to write this blog but I hope to one day. In fact like I have mentioned before I’m paying money to run this site. But guess what? I enjoy doing it! It is progress, and progress makes me feel accomplished, which makes me feel happy!
Whatever you want to start doing with your life, start right now! If you want to try something new you probably should do it before you start talking yourself out of it. Fear and anxiety are normal when you try new things. Go travel, try a different job, ask someone out, workout for the first time, and practice getting used to change. Once you start making the habit of changing your life more often even with little changes, it will become more natural and maybe even become a positive addiction. You have more control over your life than you realize and you most certainly have more control over your own fear. Find a way to get what you want and to move in the direction in which you would like to go with your life. You can always make change, and do things differently to adjust. I know of some people that have left their jobs, tried something new, and if it didn’t workout, they were welcomed back to their job. There are a lot of options out there for us all to try new things. The internet alone makes it easier to learn more, and do more. Get creative and find a way to the life you want. What do you have to lose by trying? What do you have to lose by believing?
