Anxiety is something that can plague a lot of people. Some are diagnosed with it and treated, while others have degrees of it and choose to manage it on there own. Anxiety can come from within but it can also come from outside sources. A job or busy week can be the cause, a break up or exam coming up, even just a moment when it comes out of nowhere will be the case. Sometimes a certain chapter in your life can be filled with it a lot more than others. Nowadays I feel your twenties is a great cause for it because of school, work, and just the overall pressure to succeed.
Choosing to remain positive and dealing with it properly can make all of the difference. Working out can help a lot, especially cardio. Exercise in general helps me to be happier and to worry less. It can help me to not over analyze so much and to have more clarity and understanding about life. Taking things for what they are, versus adding deep meaning helps to keep stress and anxiety in check. It can be easy sometimes and hard other times, but with practice you can learn a lot about yourself and your own problems. You can learn how to get through them and come out on top!
For those of you who truly struggle with it I want you to know that I feel for you. I cannot relate to those who have it severely, although I do know some people personally who have it and can. For those who have it mildly or are high functioning, getting through it by setting goals might help. For me learning about why I do the things I do or why I worry when I don’t need to, helps me to know that things aren’t what they seem. A lot of times things are really not a big deal. I can use the proper mindset and learn how to get better and be a better person in general. It is always a growing process but it can be done. It’s a part of life!
A lot of my stress or anxiety is linked to school. I have been in college for a long time and am trying to finish. I would like to maybe go to grad school but I don’t know if I will be able to get in. I know that when I am not in school I am a lot less anxious because all I have to worry about is work and whatever else I want to do. I still live at home and am toying with the notion of moving out. I think it is time and it will help me to focus more on my personal goals as well as school, and different careers in the future. Being more independent will allow me the freedom to do things the way I want to and to build my habits and routines around my lifestyle. I can make my life a lot easier by creating a healthy and supportive environment around my goals and my vision. I can create more positive change.
Stay strong and remain positive. You are stronger and smarter than you realize. You can learn new things to better yourself and help put your mind at ease. You can learn to be happier, more confident, and peaceful. You can get help from others and learn that a lot of people probably struggle with the same challenges you face. Life is short, and we have only one. Try and make the best of it and know that the highs and lows are a part of the process. Challenges can make you stronger if you let them. They can also break you if you let me. You can grow through everything and become the person you truly want to be. Everything takes time, effort and discipline. It can be done. I choose to believe. Will you?
